Reach
Number of unique people or accounts exposed to content, according to the platform's definition.

Simple definition
Reach estimates the number of unique people or accounts exposed to content or a campaign according to the platform’s definition. Unlike impressions, reach aims to deduplicate repeated exposure from the same user.
Formula and example
Reach is usually provided by the platform and cannot be reconstructed reliably from impressions alone. You can estimate average frequency ≈ impressions ÷ reach. Example: 80,000 impressions and 32,000 reached accounts give a frequency of 2.5.
How to interpret this KPI
Rising reach means more distinct accounts were exposed, but high reach does not guarantee attention, clicks or conversions. Pair it with engagement, views, CTR or conversion metrics depending on the goal.
Do not confuse it with
Do not confuse reach with impressions. One person exposed five times may count as one unit of reach but several impressions. Terminology can also differ across organic, paid, potential or estimated reach.
Practical use in Morocco
For local campaigns in Morocco, segment reach by region or city when the platform provides reliable geography and the breakdown fits your reporting needs. Make sure geographic targeting matches the actual commercial area.
Best practices
- Keep the same definition and denominator when comparing two periods.
- Segment by platform, format, campaign and audience before drawing conclusions.
- Always add context: objective, period, budget and data source.
- Prefer your own first-party performance data over external benchmarks when available.
When a platform or analytics tool uses a different scope, its documented definition takes precedence. See our methodology for assumptions and limitations. FaceTube methodology.
Frequently asked questions
Is reach the same as followers?
No. Reach counts accounts exposed during a period, whether or not they follow the account, depending on the platform.
Can reach be calculated from impressions?
Not exactly. The platform deduplicates users; impressions ÷ reach is more useful for estimating frequency.
Does high reach mean high sales?
No. Reach measures exposure, not commercial outcome.
